SCOL Home Page

Welcome to the 2008 SCOL webpages

SCOL is an adult ski and social club based in Lockport, NY. Our members come from all over Western New York, predominantly the Greater Buffalo area. Membership is open to those over 21 who are interested in skiing and snowboarding, and meeting others with like interests to have fun.

Founded in the sixties, SCOL has sent members on ski trips to most major resorts in North America and Europe in it's 40+ years.

We meet throughout the year for meetings, social gatherings, parties and of course to ski.

Why not join us at a club meeting soon for a good time with fellow skiers and boarders?

We're Boarder-Friendly!

SCOL began as a alpine style skiing club, but we have many snowboarders in the club as well. Throughout this webpage you will read many references to skiing and skiers. Don't be dismayed if you are a boarder, it all applies to you too! It gets tiring typing "skiers and boarders" all the time, though, so this two-planker webmaster will use "ski" as a generic term throughout this site. Whether you ski on one board or two, you're welcome here!

NEXT MEETING

See you in September!

GAYLE'S SPRING BIKE RIDE RIDES AGAIN

Now that spring and summer weather is here, why not join us for a fun activity off skis?
Gayle's bike ride is an easy jaunt along the Erie Canal banks from lovely Lowertown (Lockport) to Middleport NY and back. Lunch at the Basket Factory is planned at the mid-point. As you know, there are no rapids in the canal, so it's a flat, easy ride on a packed gravel path all the way. Bring your bike and join us this Sunday, May 4th. Details here.

WEST TRIP RETURNS FROM BANFF

Our outgoing newsletter editor writes with an unusual request.
The SCOL crew was having such a good time, they attracted some "Honorary" members from Manchester England.

Richard & Jo skied with the group several days, according to Debbie. They exchanged email addresses, but somehow, Debbie lost her notes.

So, Richard & Jo, if you visit this web page, please feel free to contact Debbie.
